About us
As a platform for developing research, The Fashion Technologies Research Group (FTRG) aims to give a voice to makers and technicians from a wide range of disciplines, who as expert users of (fashion) technologies, hold equally valuable knowledge and insight to traditional academics. FTRG aims to develop researchers’ profiles, create interdisciplinary networks and develop future UKRI and European projects. The group foregrounds discipline crossing research, which draws on insights and expertise from disciplines as diverse as Architecture, Computer Science, Engineering, Experience Design, Games Design, Haptics, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Human-Robot Interaction, Industrial Digital Twinning, AR, VR and XR. FTRG welcomes your perspective and practice.
FTRG is aligned with the AHRC funded Robotics Living Lab (RoLL) at Manchester Fashion Institute.
